Combining grey tiles and gold finishes in shower design

In this project, large-format grey marble-effect tiles were used to create a striking feature wall within the shower area. Their distinctive veining adds visual interest, while the surrounding understated grey tiles provide a balanced backdrop.

Integrating a Recessed Shower Niche

The shower also features a recessed tiled niche, providing convenient storage for toiletries while maintaining a clean appearance.Incorporating a niche into a large-format tile layout requires careful positioning to ensure it integrates naturally with the surrounding surfaces.
The finished detail adds functionality without distracting from the marble-effect feature wall.

Practicality and Installation

Beyond appearance, shower tiling needs to provide reliable performance in an environment regularly exposed to moisture.
Suitable waterproofing, correct surface preparation, and appropriate installation materials are essential to creating a durable finish.
Large-format tiles also require accurate setting out, particularly around corners, fittings, and changes between different tile finishes.
